Duplicated name warnings
Added by V J almost 6 years ago
Hi
After updating my dts/dtb file I have an issue with the device tree generation. When booting the board I get a lot of these messages:
[ 0.308766] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#1" [ 0.308805] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#1" [ 0.308886] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#2" [ 0.308914] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#1" [ 0.308940] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#3" [ 0.308975] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#4" [ 0.309076] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#5" [ 0.309115] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#6" [ 0.309164] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#7" [ 0.309265] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#8" [ 0.309366] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#9" [ 0.309440] device-tree: Duplicate name in __symbols__, renamed to "#2"
My updated dts/dtb file seems to work as expected, but the more entries I add in my dts file, the more "device-tree: Duplicate name" messages I get.
I have done some cross-checking and it seems to be related to the size of the dts/dtb file and not the syntax.
I have changed loadkerneladdr to 0xffc0 to make room for a larger dtb file. (ref. https://support.criticallink.com/redmine/boards/45/topics/5169?r=5227#message-5227).
Any advice on this?
Thanks,
Vidar
