MityCAM-C8000 Firmware¶
This page documents the firmware revisions of the MityCAM-C8000 camera firmware. Currently, the same firmware is loaded on all cameras with the C8000 sensor, regardless of back-end interface (cameralink vs. gigabit ethernet).
In general, Critical Link does not recommend upgrading firmware unless there is a specific feature that has been added or performance issue resolved that you require. See MityCAM Firmware Upgrade Procedure (P-10218) for detailed instructions for firmware upgrades. Failure to install compatible firmware or to properly follow the installation procedure may leave the camera in an unusable state and may possibly damage the unit. If you unsure or have any questions about the upgrade, please contact your Critical Link representative prior to starting the upgrade procedure.

40-000061-4 [2017-06-20]¶
Due to the nature of the changes in this release, there is no upgrade RPM. The camera can only be upgraded by Critical Link or using the SD card flash method.
Change Log¶
Features and bug fixes.
- Exposure time and frame rate calculations are corrected to match the newest datasheet. [11854]
- DVAL for Base mode Camera Link compliance. [8720]
- Support triggering on CC1 over Camera Link interface [10589]
- Fixes issue where MityViewer can't capture continuously until a capture over camera link has been performed. [12422]
- Made the external trigger edge sensitive for GigE cameras. [12604] [11929]
- Multiple pixel shift caused by vertical binning has been fixed. [11740]
- Firmware supports both Camera Link and Ethernet models of the camera using the same filesystem. [10591]
- Ethernet phy skew applied in UBoot to provide better reliability across temperature range. [10074]
Added Features¶
- Preliminary GigE support for Gigabit-interface CMV8000 [8145]
Known Issues¶
- Horizontal binning x4 and x8 don't work due to ROI constraints [7937]
40-000061-3 [2015-06-10]¶
Change Log¶
Stability release. Bug fixes.
- Fixed bug while streaming in base mode that can cause camera to lock [7969]
- Added FPGA pull-up on debug console port to avoid false key detection on power up and stalling at boot prompt, hanging camera [8185]
- Added support for sub millisecond exposures via the MityViewer API [8021]
Known Issues¶
- Horizontal binning x4 and x8 don't work [7937]
- MityViewer interface can only fetch single images correctly until a capture over camera link has been initiated [12422]
40-000061-2 [2015-04-20]¶
Change Log¶
Stability release. Bug fixes with minor enhancements for factory configuration and update management.
- FPGA built with Quartus 13.1
- ARM software build with DS-5 tools provided with Quartus 14.1
Added Features¶
- Simplified factory configuration [7913]
- Test pattern selection in MityViewer [6733]

Bugs Fixed¶
- Burst capture missing interrupts [7718]
- Vertical binning
- Horizontal binning (x2 only)
- The Camera / Mityviewer could hang on remaining frames if a fixed transfer of non-multiples of 10 or odd number of frames were requested. This has been resolved. [7710]
Known Issues¶
- Horizontal binning x4 and x8 don't work [7937]
