Databases on MityArm 335x
Added by Brian Compter about 12 years ago
I've been working on getting a basic web server running.
The pre-installed Lighttpd works well and I have a basic PHP driven site working fine. The trouble I have now is getting a database up and running.
I've tried to use opkg to install packages but none of them seem to work properly.
sqlite3 and mysql for instance fail to start due to a error loading shared libraries/object files: libgcc_s.so.1
Does anyone have experience running a low volume database on these systems?
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Are you using the filesystem from the TI SDK/PSP or the Angstrom one distributed by Critical Link? If you are using the TI PSP, you might check/post to the TI E2E site (http://e2e.ti.com). sqlite3 is probably the preferred way to go.
How did you install the sqlite tool, did you just run "opkg install sqlite3"?

At this point I am using the file system that came on the SD card as part of the dev kit right from Critical Link.
I installed sqlite using "opkg install sqlite3" which completes without error. Just to be sure, I did do a "opkg update" beforehand.

Hi Brian,
You might consider, for the MityARM-3359, using the Timesys support packages. Timesys offers a free root filesystem builder along with many packages that are routinely maintained and updated. They also provide commercially supported cross tools and a debugger environment. In addition, you can engage them with configuration questions about any of the packages that they support and you may get much more knowledgeable support than what Critical Link can provide for open source packages such as sqlite.
Timesys has tested / validated their packages with the MityARM-335x platform, so there should be a minimal amount of work to at least try out a build from them (at no cost). A lot of our customers have high regard for this company.
I had forgotten that Timesys is supporting the MityARM-335x product line, or I would have mentioned this earlier. Sorry.

Thank you for the response. I'll be sure to look them up and see what they have to offer.
Again I've been impressed with the feedback via this forum.
Thanks,
Brian
