Alternate part for card edge receptacle

Added by Bhima Shankar 7 days ago

Hi,

Please suggest any substitutes for "JAE MM70-314B1-2-R300: card edge receptacle" as this part is out of stock in Digikey and Mouser for longer time.

Dear Michael,

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

Among the three options listed, two appear to be obsolete, and the remaining one has been out of stock for an extended period. Could you please suggest an alternate part or equivalent replacement for the JAE MM70-314B1-2-R300 connector?

Thanks

Shankar

The Aces connector listed on that page (91781-31408-001) is in stock in Digikey

https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/aces-connectors/91781-31408-001/16671838

We list it in a second column because our test fixture and development kit are built with the JAE part, so we have not built a board with it. From a specifications perspective, we believe it should be OK to use.

The challenge with this SOM is we need a typical 3mm (+/- 0.3) carrier board to inserted PCB spacing.

It also looks like Aces 52741-3140A-002 would also work (in stock in digikey).

Unfortunately, these don't have the same mounting / alignment pin arrangement and will require updating the PCB footprint for use.

I have not found a footprint compatible part with the JAE yet. Is your board already designed?

Hello Shankar -

Just checking in on this, were you able to find supply to meet your needs?

Is your board already designed, or can you work with one of the suggested alternates?

Finally, does your design use the Hirose DF40 connector in addition to the edge connector? If not, you may have even more options.

Let us know how we can help further.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Thomas,

Thank you for your continued support and for the quick responses to our queries — we really appreciate your timely assistance.

we are using the new connector you suggested in our latest design. Additionally, we are taking the boot select options and I²C lines from the 100-pin Hirose connector.

Thanks

Shankar
