Heat Dissipation¶

The processor on the MitySOM-A10S, Arria 10, consume varied power amounts depending on the customer specific applications. In some instances, a heatsink may be required to keep the processor within manufacturer specified operating limits as every environment is different and the same solution will not work for all the different environments. Please contact your Critical Link account representative to discuss the options mentioned below and others that have been employed by both our customers and ourselves in our designs or new suggestions specific to your application.

Custom Heatsink with fan¶

The heatsink with fan that we have used for our development kit is custom made by Radian. It contains:

Radian Part Number: CTL001

• 29MM EZ-Snap Clip
• 29MM Plate fin heatsink
• CHOMERICS T725 27X27 MM OR FULL
• 5V DC FAN 25X25X10 MM
• four #2 X 5/8 PHIL PAN TYPE B SMS SST (RoHS) OR EQUIVALENT COVERAGE

Fan Connector¶

This custom heatsink with fan has a Red 5V DC wire and a Black GND wire terminated at a 2 pin connector which is to be used with J3 of the module.
